curing
In simple terms, "curing" is the structured, data-driven process of transitioning a project from founder-controlled stewardship to neutral, community-led governance.
Instead of an irreversible donation on Day 1, we implement conditioned rights transfers.
This means the project’s governance, licenses and IP ownership "cures" toward neutrality based on specific, pre-defined milestones, such as revenue targets, adoption metrics, or time horizons. As the sponsoring startup de-risks its business model, control gradually shifts from the company to the community.
Curing is how we ensure that a project can start as a competitive weapon for a founder but mature into a public good for the world, without destroying the company that created it.
