BYO‑Cloud

BYO-Cloud (Bring Your Own Cloud) is a hybrid deployment model where the commercial open source vendor manages the software application and operations (the control plane), but the actual infrastructure and data reside within the customer's own cloud environment (the data plane). This model is a strategic "middle ground" for monetization; it addresses strict enterprise requirements for data sovereignty and security while allowing the COSS company to capture revenue through managed services and automation, distinct from the free "core" or fully hosted SaaS offerings.
